This art project was bit unusual for us because, since the kids are all in school now, I think they need more time to just experiment with art supplies and create whatever they want. But it was rainy and the Baby was sleeping and I felt like flowers.
First, I drew flower shapes with a Sharpie on leftover pieces of cardstock. I mixed salt into tempera paint, and some clear glue and white paint, and let the kids go crazy all over the kitchen floor. That's actually why I'm posting the project- because it turned out relatively active with all the crawling and squating.
We didn't have any green paper so the girls and I painted some white fingerpaint paper green and let it dry. I told them ahead of time that I would be cutting it up into stems and leaves.
Painting her sky with blue paint and a sponge. We got to use so many different textures in this project! This is actually day 2, on day 1 we just did the flowers and set them to dry. All over the kitchen :)
I cut most of the flowers (their choice, I think they were too excited to glue it all together because they usually like to cut). They glued the stems, leaves, flowers however they wanted.
Finished product! Super cute. I do like the things they create so much better, though.
