Motivation Can Be Half The Battle

Sometimes, we all just need a kick in the pants.

I just look at myself naked (or worse, in a swimsuit!) and I make that day's exercise session a sweaty priority. ;)

If I'm feeling lethargic and have the kids by myself for the evening, I will tell them about the fun game of indoor hide&seek/tag/walk we are going to take and when it will occur. They will MAKE it happen! Letting down six kids is so much harder than actually completing any activity!

I love to read magazines, so I have a monthly Fitness delivery that puts exercise and fitness at the forefront of my thoughts.

I remind myself that I write a blog about active families and that certainly gets me movin'!

Motivation can definitely be the hardest part of exercise. I tell my clients that getting to the gym is 90 percent of the battle, because once you get there you might as well workout.
We all know how important exercise is for a multitude of reasons but it often gets pushed to the bottom of the priority list. It can be very hard to get back in the habit of regular exercise especially if it has been awhile. But with each time that we do it(even if it's forcing ourselves to do it!) it becomes less of a burden and more of a habit. I guarantee if you can stick with it regularly for just a couple of weeks you will start to feel the benefits that go with it.
Michelle is so right, we all need a kick in the pants sometimes. So whether it be an upcoming event, the quickly approaching summer, or wanting to set an example for your kids, find your own motivation and give yourself that kick!!
